Lorand Sipos – Romania/Hungary

Visual Artist

My name is Lorand Sipos. I was born in Transylvania. Now I live in Hungary. My occupation is artist. I am a teacher in an art school, and also I have my own way as an artist. I work in two ways.

One way is aquarelle (watercolor). In aquarelle, I paint cities and landscape, but not in photorealist way. I put more of myself in these works.

The second way that is important to me is electrography. The end work is a print. Electrography is made using different methods. In one way I make photos of a lot of different surfaces---trees, ruins, buildings—that I put on the computer. Also, in addition to these, I make linocuts, etchings, drawings. These I scan, then mix them with the photos using Photoshop program until something emerges. I work until I see some good thing. The finish is a big print.
