Tomas Hlavina

My name is Tomas Hlavina. I am from Prague, and my work is usually objects or installations with various materials. For me it (what) is interesting relations between ideas and in some shapes in nature. I cannot say generally ...My work is very different and it is difficult to say generally some simple sentence about it. I can just say last years it is mostly metaphors for something, but it is visual metaphors. I cannot transform these metaphors to any text. It is metaphors only in visual forms.

I don’t know how people will be thinking about my work, but many people think that my work is for a special sort of people and that it is not so easy to understand my works. But I don’t make my works for a special people. I think though there is the only problem for my work that is important ... it is important to be at my work for a longer time, because it is not so easy to understand quickly. It is maybe a bit unusual in contemporary art, because all exhibitions and big shows of art are usually for quick information, and it is not so easy to concentrate. It is only this problem, I mean.
